What do I see in that tree? Success at finding life amidst significant challenges (floods, being overtopped by bigger trees, ...). An inspiration.

I am thinking of you this morning, trying to imagine you as you go on for the radiation treatment. I am thinking you hear the morning song of the birds and the cacophony of traffic as one beautiful aria. I am hoping the sun glances off dew kissed grass and that there are flowers either in pots or landscaped along the way. I am praying that you sense the deep communion of of the universe that goes with you this morning. I send blessing of kairos moments to hold you in an infinite embrace of love and light.

Dear Michael. Thanks as always for sharing your thoughts about your journey. I recently was able to go to Assisi and made a special prayer for you in the little stone room where Francesco returned throughout his life to find the still small voice within. I also held thoughts of you near the tree - that remains standing with the help of metal supports - under which Francesco conversed with the birds. I think you and Francesco would have much to share were you to be contemporaries. I am so appreciative of the ways your open heart and mind are big enough to embrace all of the mysteries of the cycles of life, death and rebirth and of the way that you are able to be ardently present and always releasing at the same time. That takes a good bit of grace and consciousness -- and definitely agency. Blessings and love from Assisi to you and your family. Thank you for engaging us all in the many considerations we make each day regarding what is most essential. ❤️
