When my life is intense and scary, the uncertainty and angst reigning, I have found myself following a cell phone text message link here. To your caring bridge page. I always experience a bridge to greater care in the world, Michael, reading your posts. Your writing and spiritual communications about the most scientific information and human vulnerable circumstances, move me so deeply. You are a gift to me and Dare I say the whole world. You are in my prayers. I’m grateful to be on the fringe of your life and feel so close to your heart and God’s heart thru you.

Michael, you are always in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so sorry to hear that there is a mass and that it is getting wider. So glad you went for a second opinion to Mayo. That's important! May all concerned achieve clarity soon! Glad too that your son could be in the meeting with you. Blessings on you!

When two options seem equally likely to be the right one, I turn to what I understand to be the Taoist way and make a random choice. I "spin the bottle," confident that we can't always "know" and that the universe is ultimately on our side. Christians like me might call it grace.

Ah, this business of being human is really something. Just as well it's not a permanent condition!

Much love,
George

Dear Michael,
This was a tough, courageous post. But thank you, especially on behalf of other cancer patients, for sharing your battle and being so open. There’s a kindred spirit between those of us fighting the battle and I so appreciate your forthrightness. Daily prayers are lifted up on your behalf for both you, your family and medical staff. God bless you, Michael.
