Good of you Michael on this day to honor your father in this way and to share with us. Your voice is strong and confident in the way an elder would speak of another. You are holding a gift that, when shared, gives life and strength to many. My father took his life 48 years ago in his 46th year. It has taken me many years to understand the gift of his life and how it has informed mine. Strength to you sword arm and honey in your heart dear Michael.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I remember you telling me about his health challenges long ago. It's great to hear about his travels and vibrant times in his life. Thanks for your memories of him.

Warmest condolences. I saw a fine hawk lift up out of your front yard a bit ago. It flew to and lingered a while on a nearby rooftop then dove down, circling back across the street. I don't know if there's a connection to your father's passing -- then again, connection is a sign of grace.

How you can write something so beautiful five days after brain-tumor surgery boggles the senses. What a tribute to your Dad. Sorry he is gone.
