Awww, Michael. Only you would come down with a brain tumor and react by giving the universe a wish list. :-) Just get better, okay? The Cubs can take care of themselves.

Yeah -- sorry about the Cubs! And that pesky leak. Boo!! I embrace you in friendship and love, and in the hope that you will heal well and that the Mets will go all the way. :-)

The journey you're on is a great and painful as well as joyful one. How all that is mixed together is in itself powerful and humbling. Journey well through the recovery process to strength and wellness--physical, psychological and spiritual wellness. That you have such a loving family and set of friends makes possible. Much love!

"Oh, God, I am learning so much about surrendering through your friend, Michael, and he does not even know it! Help Michael to further know what good he is accomplishing in his place of vulnerability. Amen"

Michael. I love your courage and honesty in this journey. And, I feel you are on to something when you talk about surrendering at a deeper level. And, you are a living example of Janet's wise advice to you. I feel strongly that you are on the right path for the circumstances life has served up for you- very response-able. Beautiful to behold. Peace,

Michael and Jenny, I want to comment from the clinical hat of being a nurse: you are doing and thinking ALL of the right things. Your strengths are in your love for each other, your family and friends. You have done your research and continue to work to renew your hope. You hope for the best but continue to plan for setbacks. You are enlightened. And so, I am cheerleading you on to continue with what you are so good at doing. I know your clinicians see you first. How could they not? They will put in a stitch here and there, move fluid, radiate areas and it might seem too matter of fact. Please know that it might be matter of fact to them because they have not lost sight of YOU-The whole person. YOU are wonderfully complex. A stitch is a stitch, and they will give you the best one they can. Now, as your friend: i wish you so much love and positive energy. If this were a cross-country meet I would be the crazy screaming cheering lady out on the course. All of my love, Swanny

Dear Michael,
Thank you for your quiet courage and your surrendering to the mystery. May God's grace and the Living Waters be ever with you, in each moment, and with us all as we hold you in our love and prayers.

Maybe the chemo and radiation started too soon. Maybe you need this week to give your body time to heal from the surgery and time for us to pray. Then, you'll be stronger and ready for the next steps of chemo and radiation.
