Sending you and your family love after attending Mass Sunday morning and feeling your Healing Service deepen and send out strong cords of faith wrapping around you all.
Michael, you are a gift to all around you, known and unknown. What you add to the world helps everyone! Now your practice is to not only be grateful and worry a little bit about privilege, but to simply receive. You give it back energetically, and not by worrying. I do know how hard that is.
Love, EB
Michael, I'm sorry I wasn't able to be a part of the Circle of Love that held and honored the gift of your Being last Sunday. While everyone gathered around you, I was surrounded by my 3 grandkids at a family gathering. As we were driving together later that day, I was conscious of the fact that it was 4:00 p.m. and you were receiving the answer to 'all of what Love can do' from your community. I was with you then, if only in my thoughts which led to a prayer for your healing.
I was ten years old when my father learned that he had a cancerous brain tumor. I'm guessing he was about your age then. Our family received the support of our community in ways that I couldn't understand at that young age, but somehow I knew it was an important part of my father's journey. I honor your courage in receiving and living into "this depth of love" - however uncomfortable - from those who love and care about you. Your honesty and the transparency of what your are experiencing are beautifully expressed and I am grateful for your sharing. In prayer and with love, I will hold you and your family in my daily intentions for health and healing.
Thanks so much for this post, Michael. I learn about community, giving and receiving from it. And thanks for Janet's poem (pantoum?). I had hoped it would be posted. It's good to reflect on as a way to keep you in mind and pray.
