For Michael...the poem that I read at his service on Saturday, February 15 (The photo that I've attached is one that I painted of Michael (tiitled "Speaking Words of Healing") as he spoke about his healing journey. (The video is on Michael's CaringBridge journal entry "Milestones and Mountain Tops" dated February 12, 2016). I like to envision that he was still speaking words of healing to us in our hearts as we shared together at his celebration of living and dying gathering).
River path
Rounding a bend,
a turn, and a bend—
This flowing path
Seems without end.
Within the waters
And at its banks
All forms of life
Give praise and thanks
The stone becomes stick,
And the stick becomes bone.
All life progresses;
We are never alone.
The broad blue sky is
Our sheltering dome,
The river, our journey,
As we make our way home.
i am singing you into this Journey with love and presence. I love you I’m grateful to have known you in this lifetime and to be inspired by you. I’m so grateful that you invited me in to experience the healing power of stories, all of our stories, and your own story. My life has been changed because I know you. May your journey be full of ease and knowing that you have lived your life so well and affected so many of us in such a healing and profound and loving way. Goodbye my friend.
