Journal entry by Chris Saxton

So yesterday was our first set of appointments. Blood work, xray, and VQ scan.  Today we are starting off with EKG and an Echo. Then we have a break for lunch and then we have an appointment with the pulmonologist.  This is the doctor who can say go or no go to the procedure. We are obviously nervous to see what he says.  Dr. Sexton warned the doctor here that he would be shocked when he saw Melissa as she does not look like what the paper's make her out to be (on paper Melissa looks very sick but when you look at her she looks fine).

Tomorrow is procedure day.  Right heart cath and pulmonary angiogram with a possible left heart cath.  Then we will see the doctor in recovery and he will tell us right then and there what treatments they are going to offer to Melissa.
