Journal entry by Richard Johnson —
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All. I personally want to thank all of those who supported us through this tough year and helped to make this Christmas very special. It took a village to get us through challenging times and I am grateful. We have been to counseling individually and as a family and will continue to do so. We have been supported by so many people from my family, Neenah, C3 Church, the schools, our amazing friends, neighbors, Frat and all whom I consider to be God’s helpers during this holiday season even if it is a simple check in phone call or text. Although this holiday season is solemn, I remain strong for my family and I am comforted that Melissa Johnson has taken her place amongst God’s Angels and is watching over us as we navigate through these coming months and years.
We honored Melissa this morning with a candlelight ceremony sharing our favorite memories and eating her famous cookies we made from her favorite recipe. We will make a plate for her at the dinner table and carry on her memory on this holy day and for many years to come. May you all have a prosperous 2020. God Bless!
