Journal entry by Melanie Horton —
Ok! It’s been an up and down kinda life since being diagnosed. At this juncture, I actually feel much better than where I began!! I have had a pain pump installed and my daily meds are now merely claritin and a multivitamin. As opposed to when I left the hospital with a
Pharmacy (21 bottles of medicine).
I can say, since the surgery for the pain pump, about 1.5 weeks after. (The first 1.5 weeks were pure pain hell ). I have not felt any pain since that time. This has been a real blessing!!
I am quite thankful for AFSPA/ FSBP - they have covered a lot of the costs of all of these
Hospitalizations/treatments - and have allowed me to receive top notch care without too much worry.
The kid is settled in - up in Canada and enjoying his freshman year.
His team made it to the NCCAA National Finals for DII Men’s soccer. That game will be played tomorrow night in Kissimmee, FL at the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex @5:30pm EST. Go Pilots !!
Now it’s continue with the chemo treatments and keep trucking towards smaller growths with no complications:)!
The treatments happen every two weeks or so. I am responding better to the treatments, less nauseousness and other side effects after the treatments- a major plus!!
Thank you for the kind wishes, cards, boxes of goodies and letters. All of it really means a lot to me and keeps me going !! So thank you - arigato, gracias!! 💜💜💜
