Maxx’s Story

Site created on September 2, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  As many of you know Maxx was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). We had no warning and began with a trip to the eye doctor that turned into a four week stay in the hospital. Maxx is receiving excellent care, and we want to send a special thank you to the entire floor at Cleveland Clinic Leukemia unit, their care and compassion has meant all the diffence in Maxx’s heath and well-being. The greatest help he can receive right now is encouragement and positivity. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Nothing like a little Harry Potter to pass the time in Radiology as we start 2019 with course four of treatment, the final phase of active treatment. Maxx is doing well, and enjoyed lots of wonderful visits over the holiday break, especially having Gabby join us for Christmas. Thank you all so much for the cards, well-wishes and gifts.
Course four is proving to be a bit of a bear but Maxx continues to joke and smile through it all - he’s so remarkably strong.
This week was full with treatment and procedures and now we are waiting on the results of his last bone marrow biopsy. We hope to keep moving forward in a positive direction, aiming for maintenance by March and returning to a bit more normalcy for his health and daily activities.
We hope everyone had a lovely holiday and wish for good things to come in 2019.
