Journal entry by Jami Nelson

Well, we just had our 6 week follow up with Neurosurgery and ENT (Ear, nose and throat). The neuro appointment went pretty well, we just have to go back in a couple weeks to make sure his wound continues to heal correctly and then every couple of months after that for the next year or so.

His ENT appointment, however, was not exactly the news we expected. Max has some hearing loss in his left ear with high frequency sounds due to the temporal fracture. They could do a hearing aid to help with it, but they think at this point it is not necessary because he has such good hearing in his right ear and it only being with certain frequencies. They only except him to really have trouble deciphering words when he is in a crowd. We will be following up with a hearing clinic to establish him as a patient there and to come up with a long term plan.

Thankful it wasn’t worse, but still a little bummed!  With all that said, we know The Great Physician and he could chose to fully restore my little guys hearing! That is my prayer!! Thank you all for your continued prayers!!
