Hi family and friends! Welcome to Max’s medical journey website. We are using it to keep everyone updated in one place.

In 2015, Max was diagnosed with Stage 1 Melanoma and won the battle by surgically removing the cancer area. Ever since, he has been cancer free and continuously monitoring spots every 3-6 months with his dermatologist.

In April 2021, Max was sent to the ER by his primary physician where he discovered cancer tumors in his lungs, liver and spine. After further consultation with the oncologist, the diagnosis illustrated that Max has Stage 4 Melanoma and it has spread all over his body including the brain and skeletal system.

Please join us on Max’s journey to battle cancer with Immunotherapy and Radiation. We appreciate all of your support and words of encouragement during this time.

Hello everyone,

We are a little less than a week away from celebrating Max's beautiful life at one of his favorite places, Chickahominy. I wanted to call out some key reminders for the event:

1. Attire: I ask that you do not wear black to the event. We are looking for attire that is comfortable to enjoy crabs on the water (try to avoid t-shirts)
2. Happy to announce that Joey and the Waitress band will be joining us on this day to provide live music from 1-4pm
3. Beer and Wine will be served with the menu previously provided.
4. If you have any pictures of/with Max that are your favorite or want to record a brief 10-20sec video of your favorite memory, please feel free to email (jadam.buss@gmail.com) or upload to google drive (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1C44tTbKa8_dH1V9SBWpXDhVf_3tT-cIL?usp=sharing)

Please feel free to continue to RSVP to the evite below however an RSVP is NOT required to attend celebration of life. Full event details available in evite.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
