Journal entry by Cara Steele —
Grandpa was able to celebrate the last few hours of daylight on Easter outside of the hospital! His motivation and insistence paid off; he was discharged to home after passing his oxygen test. He is elated to be free from the alarms and lines. He is exhausted and hopefully can get a good nights rest. Amazingly, he is moving well and will not need any acute rehab. We are working to get him settled in an independent living apartment in the next few days where Grandma should be able to join him this comingweekend. She is still at BCH, progressing well, and accepting visitors.
Both of them are just floored by the generosity and support of friends, family, and community. Knowing so many people care so much lessens the pain of this loss and difficult road. We appreciate you!
