I did not know Matt or the family but 8 years ago my niece, Amanda Drake passed away from the same thing, AVM. The rupture happened on her parents anniversary. She was in the 8th grade and was 13 at the time of the rupture. We celebrated her 14th birthday while she was in the coma. She lived 17 days after the rupture. It all was so unexpected, she never had any symptoms as I'm sure Matt did not have any either. Our families thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Your family is experiencing unimaginable hell ... and you're so right .... it hurts & is maddening, & time heals nothing. Only those who have been through the death of a child can truly relate to your feelings ... your living nightmare. Your family's story is the stark reminder that this can happen to anyone, anywhere, without notice. I will pray that your family can feel waves of comfort and peace, and that you all will be able to rest when your body needs it. I'm so glad that your family has Matt's last words to hold onto and cherish.
