Journal entry by Matthew Pistritto —
I've been home for awhile now even though the plan was to be hospitalized a week. Dr. Mitchell knows how much I can't stand it as well as some of problems it presents that I don't have at home. Therefore as long as the labs are ok, the drainage meets his approval he lets me go. I was concerned the drainage was going to be a problem but it changed dramatically, thank God.
Even with my experience it's amazing how naive you can be or just what you choose to believe. I was saying/thinking just walking in my door will change things better substantially. While I'm glad to be home, that's not happening. I'm making it my goal to stay positive through this whole process.. However, that's not always easy. The pain has increased a hell of a lot. The back either feels like steel board without any flexibility but with a lot of pain. Or... It just feels even worse with awful pain under the brace around the areas of incision. Hoping give it time ...
Staying positive! ☹️😭😃
