On November 7, 2021, Matthew Joseph Mynhier died unexpectedly in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was 40 years old.
Matt is survived by his wife, Hannah Manson Mynhier; their daughter, Molly Elizabeth; his parents Becky and Darrell Chandler of St. Albans, West Virginia; and siblings Jeremy Mynhier of Wake Forest, North Carolina (Adrianna); Emily Chandler (fiancé Nathan Doak) of St. Albans, West Virginia; Sarah Hurley (Brandon) of Maryville, Tennessee; Tammy McCartney (Wayne) of Chesterland, Ohio; and Paige Tubbs (Shon) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Mother- and Father-In law Elizabeth and Ronald Manson of Wilmington, North Carolina; Sister-in-Law Brittany Knittel (Patrick) of Wilmington, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Hugh David Mynhier, maternal grandparents Betty and Bob Drake, and paternal grandparents Twila and Gene Mynhier.
Matt was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1980 in Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up in West Virginia and graduated from St. Albans High School in 1999. He then went on to attend the University of Tennessee where he graduated in 2003 with a degree in Logistics and Transportation.
Matt met Hannah in July of 2011 while working in Wilmington, North Carolina. In 2012 they moved to Knoxville, Tennessee and were married in October of that year. They welcomed Molly Elizabeth in 2013. Matt had a career in medical sales, working the last 9 years for Medartis.
Matt will be remembered, by his friends and family, for his loyalty and boisterous personality. He had a passion for working in his garage on his favorite cars and spending time on the lake. He had a love for rescue animals, short shorts and white tennis shoes. But nothing compared to the love Matt had for Hannah and Molly Beth.
A memorial service and celebration of life for Matt Mynhier is scheduled on his birthday, November 27, 2021 at Hunter Valley Farms in Knoxville, Tennessee from 3:00pm - 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Young-Williams Animal Center: 3201 Division St., Knoxville, TN.
