Journal entry by Taryn O'Morrow —
Matt came home Friday and settled in to our guest room where the bed is lower to the ground and easier to get into. Getting him into the house was “interesting” but we managed. We really don’t want to install ramps again and sacrifice the use of our garage when winter is just getting started. I have to give him a shot in the belly every 12 hours with blood thinner so we can avoid any blood clots while he is stuck in bed but otherwise he’s pretty low maintenance.
He was evaluated on Saturday for at home PT and his first session is this afternoon around 2. Amy is back and I’m excited to see a familiar face who knows my animals and won’t ask me to corral them.
Things are going pretty well so far though Matts already complaining of boredom. We have a follow up appointment with the surgeon on the 15th where they will do a bandage change and explain the care the leg and toe need going forward.
Thank you again for all the kind messages and offers of help. We appreciate it so much and I promise to reach out if we need anything.
