Newest Update

Journal entry by Roseanne Galletly

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update so I apologize for that..it’s just been overwhelming. Matt finished round 4 on 9/26. He was pretty tired that week and then on Thursday 9/30 he had a fever and I had to rush him to the emergency room where he had to have two blood transfusions. It was easily the worst and scariest part of all of this. After that I just couldn’t bring myself to post anything because the unpredictability of that experience and the uncertainty ahead of us made it too hard to share. He spent two nights in the oncology ward at John Muir in Walnut Creek and fortunately, since he was discharged he has been better.

After a lot of back and forth, Radiology started this afternoon in pleasant hill which is so nice considering how close it is to our house. He will go in for treatment Monday - Friday until December 7th. Fortunately, the treatments are quick!

It sounds like he will have scans again upon completion of radiation. In January he can get his port removed which will be SO exciting!!
