Journal entry by Matthew Duket

Gonna try to make this brief. I had another PET scan on Tuesday and it looks fine. My lesions have stopped getting bigger and it confirmed what the blood tests show, that my cancer has leveled out at its previous “resting place.” I am not in remission yet but it’s getting there. I may be on this treatment plan for a couple of years, but it will be down to monthly visits by summertime. I can live with that.

Also, the scan showed nothing unusual or unexpected with my lymph nodes or anywhere else, so that’s a relief. Now all I need are negative results from my urological tests next Friday and then things should quiet down for a good while, including these posts!

I have not always taken these strange and sometimes startling new aches and pains well. I overreact internally sometimes. It is pretty darn challenging, this situation. Still, these results make me realize that, for the most part, this is just my new normal. And so it goes.
