Journal entry by Leah Guimond

One month to the date, Matt is home!

Addison has given him over 25 hugs, we've been counting. Lucas is concerned about being too loud and keeps asking questions. Matt is so happy to be home ... the nurses joked on the way out the door since he must have talked about going home at least a thousand times (a day) and thought he was being sneaky searching directions to Maple Grove from the nursing computer in his room.

We now start the next phase of recovery with 30 days at home with rest. His CT scan yesterday was positive - swelling was down, blood was mostly gone and minimal areas of bruising. He will continue with outpatient therapy a couple times a week and after a month will be reevaluated to determine his ability to go back to work, drive, etc.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our family and friends have shown us incredible support in many forms, so much it's overwhelming at times. We are forever grateful.

Love,
Matt, Leah, Lucas and Addison
