What a great post! I just learned more about Matt than I ever knew in all the years we taught together! Keep up all the positives. Your comment on his love for the wilderness of Alaska sparked me to recommend a book he may enjoy reading. It is called "The Great Alone" by Kristin Hannah. Not only will Matt enjoy it but it will give him strength and inspiration to keep fighting.
Rachel really related to Mr. Fouch’s need to figure out square footage in his head. She said his entire math class would have figured it out on their calculators, holding them up with the answers ready and he would say “wait, wait, wait!”, and figure it out correctly in his head. 😊.
