Journal entry by Jadey Grimmett —
Mason has endured two and a half weeks of his three week radiation treatments at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City. He does outpatient radiation Monday through Friday and then he has weekends off for "relaxing." Mason has tolerated the radiation very well up to this point, however we are beginning to see the not-so-fun side effects of treatment. Yesterday, he slept for 8 hours of a 12-hour-day and has struggled with dehydration this week. We are grateful he is able to receive IV fluids each day while doing radiation. The fluids help him feel well enough to hang out with cousins, friends, or family (when he is awake😀).
Our family has been separated from each other on and off for the last few weeks, so we are excited to spend the Halloween weekend together as a family. Costumes have arrived, candy is ready, and we are thankful for the small moments of feeling "normal."🙏
We are grateful that our family is a family no matter what circumstances are thrown at us. We still find ways to love, have fun, and look forward to moments of making memories. Even if they are small, they are wonderful!😊
