Newest Update

Journal entry by Mary Vanciu

It's been a while since I've done an update.  Things are going fairly well.  I've been getting my IVIG infusions every two weeks.  The main side effect is extreme fatigue.  I had one today so early bedtime.

I'm still on antibiotics and prednisone.  I have a few more weeks of these medications and I am looking so forward to being done.  The prednisone has really made me swell up. Especially my face.  They call it moon face.  My teeth are now extremely sensitive to cold.  I read that prednisone can cause this to happen.  I hope that's true and this goes away once I'm off the prednisone.

I had a another scan of my lungs.  The images indicate improvement but thy are still not clear.  Unfortunately I am still on oxygen.  I'm beginning to worry about this being permanent but I continue to keep a positive outlook as often as I can.

That's all for now.
