Journal entry by Ted Renneker

Mary is home. Our home was decorated with “welcome home” signs that brought an immediate smile. Two friends came over to play Barbies. Skyline for her dinner (we gave her a meat free pass), a cup of ice cream for desert, and now she is tucked into our bed. She asked, again I caved.

Our 10 day hospital journey with all the emotion is over. Recovery will take a few months but we are hopeful for 100% by summer, maybe even sooner. It feels like a good time to stop posting to CaringBridge as a way to communicate with such a large group. This will be our last post for Mary’s “Cyst of 2018” saga. Of course we will post big milestones in her recovery on the multiple of other social media site to which we subscribe. Feel free to friend us,
like us, follow us, partner with us, or whatever on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Vero.

We can never thank all of you enough. My hand will cramp in the coming days writing thank you cards. Expect hand shakes and hugs in the coming days. Remember, hugs are my favorite. Your support has been overwhelming and will change us forever.

We will still accept prayers for Mary’s ongoing recovery. But we have one more ask from each of you. Please pivot to someone else who needs your support. Father Paul reminded us that even when we are struggling, it helps to pray for others who also need God’s grace and love. Your support gave us a miracle. Let’s give others the same blessing.
