I met Marylin at the Cenacle Retreat House in Houston TX. We were in the same Spiritual Direction class. Marylin was the most colorful person with a gift for beauty in all things. Marylin and Bob moved back to the US from Australia and she found her way to the Cenacle and the AIDS Hospice, along with a Quaker Community, artists group , and many other places along the way. There were few essentials in life for Marilyn- God, Bob, and their girls. A gifted master artist, talented writer- great cook, oh there was nothing at which Marylin didn’t excell. A friend from Houston and I once visited Marilyn and Bob in Avila Ca. It was the 1st time I had been with the 2 of them together over several days. That trip confirmed for me what I knew but had not seen. The beautiful abiding love they shared, always. I could go on. But will end with gratitude to God for allowing this exquisite, amazing, smart, funny, compassionate woman to cross my path, leaving an indelible profound memory whose name is Marylin.
