Marylin’s Story

Site created on October 2, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Marylin was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis about 5 years ago. Pulmonary fibrosis is a condition where scarring of tissue effects the lungs. Generally people who are diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis have shortness of breath and find it difficult to breath. In Marylin's case she was able to find treatment that has been pretty effective until earlier this year. In January after getting a severe cold, the pulmonary fibrosis accelerated.

In May this year, Hospice was brought in to help with the progression of Marylin's illness. Marylin remains at home with the help of Bob, Hospice and family and friends.

Dear Family & Friends,
I know you are wondering when and how you can honor Marylin.  While the love and devotion you have given her during her journey is enough, if you feel like making a donation in her memory, please
consider:
      Wilshire Hospice     www.wilshirehcs.org
      277 South Street, Suite R
      San Luis Obispo, CA 93401
This is where Marylin volunteered for years, and where she served as a spiritual counselor.  It is also
the organization that provided her home care.

Bob and the family intend to have a Celebration of Life, but given the pandemic, it may be months
before anything is organized.  For now, we can each reflect on how Marylin's life made ours better.

Thank you, once again, for sharing Marylin's journey. It was a precious gift.

Love,
Karla
