Thanking the Lord for my favorite innkeeper. Mary's was a life well spent, giving away His love and care to every guest, making each one of us feel very special.

Rest easy darling Mary; your work on earth is done.
Whole-hearted we commit you to God’s eternal Son.
There’s not a soul who knew you would not recount a tale
Of service gladly given and love that did not fail.
Your nursing care, your breakfast fare, your gardens’ lovely bloom
Displayed to all whose lives you blessed a heart of spacious room.
Rest in the arms of Jesus; hear His glad, “Well done.”
Receive your comfort now repaid in Eternity begun.
The world has lost some color now that Mary’s traveled home.
We travelers here will shed a tear accepting that she’s gone.
But the pattern she provided should move us all to be
As loving, kind and selfless a servant just as she.

Dear Meghan and all of Mary's family,
As you are so deeply saddened by Mary's passing into the arms of Jesus, let us be of comfort to you as you are to us. We loved Mary for so many wonderful reasons, the least of which was her genuine care, concern and love for us. She really cared deeply for us and was so helpful in nurturing us to grow our lives into the people God intended. She was inspirational, always putting the joy of others over her own. We cannot put into words in this small space what Mary Gruler meant to us, but please know, we are here for you all, hugs abounding, love reaching each of you in these dark days. Our lives will never be the same because of the paths that crossed via the Gingerbread B&B. Praying for God's gentle mercies upon you today and in the days to come. Julie and Larry

Thank you for letting us know. The Gingerbread House became my home twice a year for over 25 years because of Mary. I will miss her. I am so grateful that my friend Mary and I had lunch with her the first of June this year. Your family will be in my prayers.
