Mary’s Story

Site created on July 8, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

It's hard to believe this all started with a fun trip to the beach to visit her best friend, Christy, but my mom suffered a heart attack on Wednesday, July 4th.  She had surgery on Friday, July 6th, a quadruple bypass, after finding out three of the arteries were 95% blocked.  Her surgery was very successful, and she now is on the road to recovery knowing that her heart is stronger than ever!

Mary is at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting!

Journal entry by Megan Meekin

On our trip home from Salisbury yesterday Jeanne, my mom and I decided that rehab may not be the best option for my mom to stay.  We decided to have her stay at Jeanne's house in Poolesville until she is ready to go home.  I'll keep updating everyone for when she is ready to go home to Olney!  We would appreciate if everyone who wants to visit could wait until she gets to Olney to come see her.

She is continuing to progress well, sleeping better now that she feels like she's at home.

Thank you all for your love and support.  I love all the emails, texts and calls I've been getting.  Numerous people have asked me about meals and visiting.  I'll post another link for meal sharing and visitor sign up to make sure not too many people are coming at the same time.  Mary will be on a cardiac diet, so I'll post what is allowed and not allowed.  Thank you!
