Mary’s Story

Site created on March 23, 2021

On March 19th, Mary suffered a complex leg fracture while Steve was on his way to a knee operation.  We, their family, have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support for their healing. We created this site to keep people updated about their progress. While they typically love supportive calls and visitors, please use this site to let them know you're thinking of them. At this time, they are unable to keep up with texts/calls and are not up to having any visitors (both in the hospital and at home). We will keep you updated and let you know when they are healthy enough to have visitors.

At this time, they ask for prayer for healing. They had a meal train set up and home care supplies have been purchased. Currently, they do not need any meals or help at home. We will let you know if they have any needs. Again, thank you all so incredibly much.

Journal entry by Julie Knutson

Mary has been having the physical and occupational therapists come to the house and she’s still over-achieving with what’s expected of her. She’s thrilled that she can almost bend her leg 90 degrees. Her goal is to be able to do that by next week. She’s getting around so well and is so strong...1 month down, 2 to go until she can be weight bearing again!
