Martha’s Story

Site created on December 19, 2017

On Sunday afternoon, December 17th, while Martha was getting ready for their church program, she suffered a stroke. When she got to the hospital in Laurel they determined that it was a hemorrhagic stroke and determined she needed to come to St. Dominic Hospital. Martha was somewhat responsive in Laurel but the bleeding continued and by the time she made it to Jackson she was non-responsive and her pupils were fixed and dilated. The neurosurgeon determined that they best course of action was a craniotomy.  Once the surgery was over there was an immediate improvement of her pupils which was a positive sign.  When the doctor evaluated her on Monday morning she responded to his commands to show 2 fingers and move her thumb. Another positive sign. The family has set up this site to keep everyone informed of Martha's progress. We ask for your continued prays.
