Martha’s Story

Site created on June 4, 2018

Well I am ready for the next leg of the journey.  I picked up biopsy slides from Anita Imaging and delivered Dr. Englands office to be given to
Advocate pathology.  I had the EKG, x-ray, and blood work done. Things ave changed in the 24 years since I had surgery.  Now you hydrate the night before and 6 hours before surgery, for me thats.that's 3 am.  Wash with Hibiclens the night before and morning of, using a clean towel each time, brush your teeth with a new toothbrush rinse with Listerine for 30 sec. Then we leave for the. Hospital at 4 :30 am.

Journal entry by Martha Barry

A year ago I entered a sister hood I never wanted to be a part of.  I am now one year Cancer free and praying for another group of women who have joined this journey.  It is time for a cure for all.  I am well, active and forever thankful for all who prayed and wished me well. Thanks
