Bella, would you be comfortable sending me an e-mail so I could connect with you a little bit? Marlene just came up in my mind, though I hadn't spoken with her for years, and I checked for her on FB and found your post and the video of her reading her poem. I'm so sad.

Bella, I was there with your parents when you were born, and Marlene was at the births of both my children. At least for sure at David's; I don't fully remember if she was here for Joseph's or not. I remember your dad brought dozens and dozens of lilacs to the hospital room for David's birth. David is a couple years older than you and used to call you "Isit-beya".

I spent a lot of time at their house in Mpls by Powderhorn Park. I guess you wouldn't remember it. I was so sad when they moved away, though I sense that CO was so much better for Marlene - she got so darn cold here!

I'm shocked. I was just going to reach out, you know? I called her a few times after she moved but we have limits on how many people we can keep close, and of course there was no social media at that time.

I guess this was what I needed to say. If you feel up to it, and would want to connect with me just to let me know you received this, my e-mail is wpdj@usfamily.net. I hope you're well. With love and prayers for comfort and healing,
Pam

Dear Bella and Scott. I have many fond memories of the years I worked with Marlene at DecorAsian. This is heartbreaking news but I also know she was incredibly strong during her battle. I send you both much love. Reed

Thank you Bella and Scott for the perfect poem message from Marlene. I feel sad but that is my own sadness- from Marlene, I feel like a tidal wave of light has washed over us all. Bella you don’t know me, I remember you from when you were small, but I can see from your posts that you share Marlene’s joie de vivre, thank you for allowing us to accompany you all on this journey.
Scott we have met briefly a few times, but I could see what a good heart you have and how our dear Marlene was so blessed to be married to you.
So many hold you all in our hearts. May the lessons in Joy and compassion we have learned from Marlene spread out further and further and touch all beings.

I’m both saddened and relieved that Marlene has completed her earthly journey. She helped guide me many years ago. Bella, I was around for the happy time when you were born. Scott, I’m glad Marlene found you to share her last years. She was an amazing, compassionate, funny, talented teacher and guide to navigating this life. I will never forget her. May her memory be for a blessing.
