Mark’s Story

Site created on January 5, 2019

On January 4 Mark woke up with a headache and very high blood pressure . Brock thankfully was with him and rushed him to the emergency room . He had suffered from an aneurysm/ stroke in the brain . He was flown to Florida hospital where they performed surgery to repair the damaged blood vessel . He is in icu and will remain there for several weeks . He has some bad days and good days . But all in all he is doing well .

Newest Update

Journal entry by Brock Lesperance

It’s been awhile since I have written an update on Mark's recovery.  He has worked very hard over the five months of physical, occupational and speech therapy.  He has been released by Advent Health Waterman's outpatient rehab.  He has lots of homework to keep him busy.

Today we took a short trip on the boat and he really enjoyed it.  He has taken a few short drives in town with me in the car.  He feels well, but tires pretty easily.  He is now able to read light books, which he really enjoys.

The effects of the stroke have created a bit of a new normal for us, but we are blessed by the progress.

Much love,

Brock
