Here’s to you little buddy and hoping the best for you. Allow me to recount our many life experiences together starting in the mid-1970s skiing the bump runs on the A and B lifts of Copper Mtn, taking a break with a burger and beer and with full bellies and MJ getting back to pounding the bumps. And the many days in Aspen skiing the bumps on Ajax followed by dancing up a storm at Andre’s. I have to take credit in introducing you to wind surfing in about 1981, all we could do then was go around in circles but in 1986 we went to Maui and as I floundered you went riding with the wind and have been doing so ever since! Mark, I’m not sure you’ve ever been a phone “texter” as you never did respond to any of my previous text messages over the last few years, but I sent you a text message last week which went something like this:

“Dear Mark, I don’t think we’ve spoken since you called me in 2020, asking me if I still wanted the Asian dragon artwork piece from your house in our old Bonnie Brae neighborhood, which I’d always admired. But I thought I’d give it a go, and try texting you again.

Peter called me today and told me that you aren’t doing so well, and I just wanted to reach out to my old friend Mark and let you know that I’m thinking about you. Peter and I just got off the phone after rehashing so many special, fun, and crazy times that we had with you throughout the years, and it dawned on me that you and I have been friends for some THIRTY-SIX years! It’s just amazing to me, how fast time flies. It seems as if it was only a couple of years ago that we were all hanging out at Rick’s Cafe, Charlie’s house in Aspen, your terrific bachelor pad with one of your beautiful German Shepherds—Raywah and Cole, when Sydney was just a toddler, and even visiting you at your house in Maui. (By the way, I still make that delicious salad that your Mother made for us on one of her Denver visits). At the same time, it seems like a lifetime ago, too. Sydney just turned THIRTY last month, and Peter and I have been divorced for eleven years now. Where did the years go? And it’s just so special that you were the one responsible for introducing Peter and myself, in the first place. Had that introduction never occurred, I would not have been blessed with my beautiful daughter and best friend, Sydney. So, I owe you the world for that one, Mark. And Sydney sends her love and well wishes your way, too.

Anyway my friend, I just wanted to tell you I love you and I’m pulling for you. I’d love it if there is any chance we could speak on the phone, but at the same time, I understand that you need all the strength you can muster. Please take care.

I love this guy, my most non Jewish Jewish brother. I had the pleasure of his company last month in Oregon. It was hell (getting his dog Ranger to Maui). but he endured it. That story not known in its entirety (I’ll find out the missing details from Mark shortly) but it’s a Mark classic.

Stay strong Mark we all love you. You have been a great friend for decades. I'm so sorry you are going through this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

What a wonderful summary and welcome I’m so glad Greg and Jen are there and doing so much. Up to now Bob has been giving us updates but going forward I assume we’ll all be able to be informed on this site. Of course we’ve got a million photos of Mark.
