Mark’s Story

Site created on July 2, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We appreciate your support, prayers, and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Mark was admitted to the hospital June 30th after experiencing a syncopal episode (looked like a seizure) due to a BP of 68/40. After appx 6 weeks of coughing up blood, 2 rounds of antibiotics, and 6 Dr. visits he has been diagnosed with granulomatosis with polyangitis (Wegeners disease) a form of vasculitis. It is an autoimmune disease that is attacking his lungs and kidneys. He is being treated weekly for 4 weeks with a "chemo type" infusion and then every 6 months for 3 years. He is also receiving preventative antibiotics as well as prednisone.

The pulmonoligist is optimistic that he'll have a good recovery although it will take "months". They won't be releasing him from the hospital until they are able to maintain his oxygen at a safe level. Please know that we are humbled and grateful by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers!

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

The Lord is good and we are full of joy and hope today!

Mark got a call from his transplant coordinator today (Victory!). After a full week of appointments last week his case was presented to the transplant team again this week. He is fully approved for transplant. He will have one more appointment with the surgeon and they want to install a defibrillator prior to surgery. The transplant coordinator estimated it will be scheduled in appx six weeks (VICTORY)!!!

PTL 🙏

They estimate he will be unable to work for 12 weeks after the surgery. So if anyone knows anyone looking for construction work (even just temporarily!) Please send them his way ASAP.

Thank you for your continued love thoughts and prayers. They bless us daily!
