Journal entry by Steven Beil

I've heard that miles 18-23 are typically the hardest in a marathon. Generally, a runner can hold a steady pace for the majority of the race before feeling a physical wall where the pace becomes difficult. Mentally, the race becomes tougher, too.

We are heading into mile 18. We have certainly appreciated the support we have received by a select few over the last 4 months but now is a time where we need to ask for more help. People's ability and capacity to help varies based on many circumstances and trust us we get how hard it can be. What we really need is for people to help by visiting Midge.

With school and kid activities ramping back up our ability to get to a facility to visit with Midge will become more and more challenging and less than what we could do over the summer.

How does this work? We will post in the PLANNER section of this site the days/times that we will be visiting as well as keeping her location updated. Note that she is currently at UC but will be moving in the next week in all likelihood. We will also try to show the visiting restrictions for your reference. Any open days/times feel free to sign up to go visit. This will help everyone stay coordinated.

Thank you in advance for loving our mom and trying your best to support us.
