I'm late to the dance here, Kate, but hopefully you will still see this. My best memory is my son, Blake Byus, always checking to see if Mr. Sagnon was in his classroom when we would drive by the school after hours. Blake would say, "See mom, Mr. Sagnon is in his classroom. His light is on." He was like a beacon to those kids. He put in the extra time for them and they recognized it.

Hi Kate! Know that you are still in our thoughts and prayers, especially today.
One of the best times I had with Sagnon was parent teacher conferences. I got 2 time slots back to back because I had 2 in his French class. That was great because it took that long to chat about everything from special times he had with my kids in his class to what they were doing out of class. Always remember the conversation we had about prom boutineeres! He taught me some French that day! He was a king of a cheerleader to my kids and so blessed that their lives and mine were touched by his kindness and care.
God bless you.

Marius and I would have chats about various things related to our Catholic faith. We both went to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and I always was happy to see him at Mass. His smile could light up any room and his energy- pure passion and zest for life - I’d like to think that was from his faith in God. Every now and then I think “what would Marius think about a certain reading or homily?” And then I’m comforted knowing he’s smiling from heaven with a response.

Some of my favorite and fondest moments of Sagnon were when he simply recognized me and listened. He treated everyone as his best friend, and I will
Forever be grateful and remember that intentional love and care. My favorite memory that I think of often is when he would walk me to my class (that I was often late to) senior year, and would ask me about how I was doing and would without a doubt give me encouragement for whatever I was going through. He will always be mine, and everyone else’s, best friend.
Praying over his family, KATE, and everyone that knew and loved him.

I loved to joke around with Mr. Sagnon in class and one of my favorite memories with him was the day he dared me to not say a word the entire class. I ended up standing next to him and writing on the board for most of class. He laughed for the rest of class about me finding a way around his dare and told me if anyone could work around it it would be me! We all miss him so much ❤️

One of my favorite moments with Mr. Sagnon was staying after school more than two hours after it had ended just chatting with him and our friends. We just shared many funny anecdotes and I loved every minute of it <3

My favorite memory of Mr. Sagnon is when he started calling me his bestie. We would walk around the hallway and he would tell people “this is my bestie.” Another favorite memory is when he would get upset after we started counting every time he said "On y va" which one day after school I went into his classroom and I covered his dry erase board with all different size "On y va. "

I am so grateful that Ethan was a part of his life. Mr Sagnon was "a second dad" to him and he will forever be in our memories
