The first year
What are you thinking about today? I am thinking about you. How i thought things were going to be. What our future was supposed to be. How this year was anything but what it is.
Good morning friends and family. I know on this day I am not only thinking of Marius i am thinking of all of you. How Marius impacted your life and what we have missed in the year we have been without him.
What I do want to do today is not focus on what we have lost but what we gained by having him in our lives. So please “let your joy rise to the surface” today and share a happy moment that you remember. Big or small. That is how I will get through this day. By reading all the happy funny stories that you all share with me. My fun memory is about the day he met my kids for the first time. We were sitting in my living room on a rainy afternoon. One of my kids started talking about what they were scared of. We all went around the room sharing what our fears were. Marius got very quiet and serous…then he blurted out in his very awesome accented…hippopotamus. That is my worst fear. Then he went on to tell stories about them growing up. We all laughed so hard. Not at him. But with him as he told his very animated stories of them.
