Visited Marilyn yesterday and we went outside. It was beautiful day and Marilyn enjoys being outside but wanted to go in when I needed to leave. She understandably gets very upset when she isn’t understood she tries to be patient with us but it is difficult wish there were more ways than she has to simplify this for her.

Just returned from visiting Marilyn last week, just before she moved to new place. Her care team and therapists were impressive, and up to the challenge of working with our girl! She showed lots of grit and moxie, as always. Although not actually able to speak, she showed great expressiveness in both laughter and frustration. Our visit was esp. happy looking at photos of our trips and other fun times of our 40 year friendship. I showed her a photo of Obama, which she took and kissed! She showed interest in updates on CSW in NY and CEDAW projects, and nodded as I read her cities' progress. She is a champion for us, so keep your cards and contributions coming!
Happy Day every day. Hope it is for you. I visited Marilyn on Friday and as usual it was good to be with her and bring her favorite Chocolate. We visited and looked at old photos she had and laughed at how young we were. Met her roommate and a couple of housemates. Marilyn was her usual scrappy self. She works real hard at communicating and gets frustrated. Hope that changes as she gets stronger and she is able to get her words back with more speech therapy. Chris came while I was still there and we had a short visit. it was difficult to leave. However I have a long drive in heavy traffic. I will go back on Wednesday this week. Chris will be away for work and its important that someone be there as often as possible. I Hope others can visit also.
