"My husband Jake Griffiths had a stroke on December 23rd. Jake was at home and woke up from a nap with jumbled speech and weakness in the right side of his body. He was taken to the hospital where we found out he had a stroke on the left back side of his brain (affecting speech, balance and the right side of his body). It has been a crazy week…brain swelling, loss of use of the right side of his body, slurred speech, struggling to say what he is thinking and confusion. As a wife and mother, it was very scary to see my strong husband change so quick and I feared for the future. It has been a week since his stroke and many many prayers have been said and I can see the tender mercies all around us. He is now in acute rehab therapy with speech, OT and PT daily. We have a long road ahead of us but we are alive and will come out stronger. If you are the praying type, please include Jake in your prayers as he has a lot of hard work to do to return to his normal life. Thank you to all those who have reached out.
