Margaret’s Story

Site created on July 8, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

This site is being created by Margaret's daughter - Beth.  My mom had been living at Woodland Garden Apartments the past seven years and fell this past April.  She has been managing with her walker these past several years but walking and maneuvering has been a constant struggle.  She spent some time in rehab at Ecumen Lakeshore (entering May 2) and then moved to the Franciscan Health Center (FHC, http://fhc.sfhs.org/) to finish her rehab on May 15.  Since her rehab finished it didn't seem like a good situation for her to move back to independent living so she has remained at FHC.   She has found the staff there to be excellent caregivers but misses her independent apartment.    She was introduced to the idea of hospice by her caregivers this week and decided to receive the service.    This site is for anyone who would like to keep updated and participate in this journey.

A few more pics from my mom's birthday celebration in 2018.   80 years well lived and then added on a couple more years for good measure.   These are with her long-time friends Lisa and Pam and Eirik and I.
