Journal entry by Laura Elizabeth Kuyach —
Once in new ICU I met a new set of nurses. They were fantastic. Marco continued to present them challenges and they solved each one. His heart began racing and his blood pressure dropped but once the correct medicine was on board that problem was solved. He continued to show progress by responding to requests from the doctors. Hands, feet, arms were moved when asked. He was answering yes and no when asked questions. He even gave one nurse “the eyebrow” when she annoyed him. He continued to spike frequent fevers and nothing was showing an infection. His kidney seemed to be sleeping so they began a gentle dialysis. That seemed to help. I felt I could safely leave him in their hands while I continued my treatment. Karen
