Marc’s Story

Site created on March 25, 2022

On Tuesday March 15th our family received the shocking news that Marc has Stage IV colon cancer.  The following days felt like a bad dream.  It was an avalanche of scary and overwhelming things.  But, in that time, we have felt an outpouring of support, kind words, encouragement and love for which we are extremely grateful.

We are learning to frame a discouraging situation as optimistically as possible, and we are preparing ourselves for a challenging fight.  We are also praying for the best, and thanking all of our friends and family for the love that they have already shown as we embark on this journey.

Thank you for visiting our CaringBridge site.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Jeni Noga

Hello to all!  I'm happy to say that our 2024 is off to an AMAZING start!

First and foremost, Marc's 3 month scans of the chest and abdomen showed "No Evidence of Metastatic Disease"!  The great news was confirmed yesterday at Marc's quarterly check up with Dr. Benga.  I'm happy to say it was the fastest doctor's appointment we've had in almost 2 years and included a quick summary of the CT scans (looked great); a review of his blood work (better than mine!); and some hugs and laughter.

Secondly, we were happy to see The Wolverines win the National Championship!  Not important in the grand scheme of things, but it was a fun season, and a good distraction while Marc recovered from the effects of chemotherapy.

NEXT UP (God willing), is the monitoring phase:  visits with our oncologist every 3 months and CT Scans every 6 months for the next 3 years.

We feel BLESSED and RELIEVED, and are very grateful for this outcome.  And even though the hard part is hopefully behind us, it's hard to imagine a life NOT worrying about freaking cancer.  But we are looking forward to trying, and will absolutely take the win for now!

We would appreciate prayers for Marc's continued healing and good health in 2024... and beyond!

Love to you all, and CHEERS to a New Year!
