Newest Update

Journal entry by Josh Aguas

Just got an update from Vic -
Thank you all for praying!

Kai is doing well and will be discharged later today. He is responding well to the medication and thankfully doesn’t need any oxygen support.

The conclusive diagnosis was RSV. With the medication and catching it before the virus peaked, he should be in significantly better shape (instead of catching it later) and able to rest better in the comfort of our home instead of being hooked up to all the monitors at the hospital. We are very grateful that we were able to catch it early - our God is kind.

They said it may get worse before it gets better and we may be admitted back in if he regresses. We are hopeful that God will continue to support and strengthen Kai.

Kai has a follow up appointment on Thursday to continue to monitor is oxygen levels.

If you’d like to continue to be praying for us and for Kai:

1. Pray that Kai would be able to rest well and that he would be able to get the rest that his body needs. The main thing the doctors had told Victoria is to make sure he gets rest so it doesn’t turn into pneumonia. We are hopeful that God will keep him well!

2. Pray that Kai would continue to intake fluids. He currently has been pushing water away but has been taking to the apple juice at the hospital. Dehydration is the biggest concern and could exacerbate his condition.

3. Pray for Victoria to continue to find her strength in the Lord and that she would be able to lean and depend on Him instead of her own strength. She works very hard in all that she does, including her care and love for our boys. She balances a lot and it would mean a lot to me if you found ways to encourage or support her as she adjusts her schedule to care for Kai’s physical therapy and follow up appointments.

Thank you all again for praying and for the many texts  of concern and care. It is so good to not be alone in all of the ups and downs of this journey.
