Journal entry by Joye Storey

We had some concern today.  Carolyn's home care nurse encouraged me to get her to urgent care. She started with fever, chest wheezing and cough last week. She still had a fever this morning.

So this afternoon we headed to urgent care. Temperature was down to just above "normal".  X-ray result showed that it's not pneumonia.

This time last year she began her year health battle with pneumonia because she just wouldn't slow down or stop all of the Christmas commitments.  So, here we are again but hopefully we can catch this before it turns into anything worse.

Doctor tonight thinks she's had the flu (yes, she had a flu shot but Dr says it doesn't seem to be the right one for the strains they're seeing this year). The flu has triggered a bronchial reflex similar to asthma.

Will monitor her for a couple of days and she has an existing appointment with her regular doctor on Wednesday, so we'll see how she's doing then.

Prayers appreciated.  I'm scheduled to return to work next week but she's just not recovering as we'd hoped. She can't completely care for herself or be left alone for long periods of time. Not sure what the plan will be yet.

Will post something in a couple of days once we see how she's doing after her doctor's visit.
