Madison Elizabeth’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Madison Elizabeth Brady and Mackenzie Paige Brady, identical twins, were born on Dec 20, 2019 at just 24 weeks. Weighing barely over 1 pound each, they are called “micro preemies”. The girls are perfectly formed little miracles, who have already beaten “all odds but God’s”, but their early entry into this outer world has begun a series of difficulties and challenges for them and their parents, Jeremiah and Lori Brady. M&M were born by emergency C-section when Lori experienced a massive hemorrhage, prompted by Madison’s placenta infiltrating (growing through) the uterine wall. We are so thankful that Lori had already been admitted to the hospital for prior bleeding, so that the special surgical team was able to quickly and safely remove her uterus, along with the babies, thus sparing Lori’s life!
In their first 2 weeks of life the tiny sisters have struggled to maintain their heart rates and oxygen levels, with Madison requiring chest (heart) compressions on two occasions, and suffering lung collapse 4 times. Both girls have experienced mild to moderate brain bleeds and are currently both battling infections, which pose further complications. Despite their excellent care, doctors and nurses have been unable to establish PICC lines on either girl. These special IVs will be essential to deliver nutrition to the babies in the next 36 hours.

Bedside vigils, middle-of-the-night phone calls and trips to the hospital have been emotionally and physically exhausting for Jeremiah and Lori, and stressful for their two sons, Jaxson and Cobi (8 and 7 years old).

We would greatly appreciate your prayers and encouragements for this dear family and their precious, delicate daughters!

Thank you so much!!!
Cheryl Brady (grandma)
