Lynn’s Story

Site created on September 16, 2021

Lynn Sullivan is at home with her daughter and family under hospice care for advanced pancreatic cancer.  She was diagnosed just over a month ago and the prognosis was such that she chose quality over quantity of life.  Any treatment would have marginal benefit and would have involved miserable hospital stays where she would be isolated from family and friends.

I can imagine many of you are wanting updates. Feel free to reach out to me anytime.  Email, stop by or phone/text 510-292-9938.    Mom is no longer able to communicate but she responds to voices with small facial expressions.  She is unable to swallow and has not had water in several days so we know the end is near.  She is comfortable and quietly sleeping.

Please pass this information on to friends and family I do not have contact info for.  Mom has so many friends and a huge family.  I know I am missing many people who care very much.

I started a CaringBridge site (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/lynnsullivan). If we all participate on the site by sharing stories, memories and photos I think it will be a lovely tribute to her rich and diverse life.  Please consider participating. This is the #1 way you can help.

If you know someone who might like to participate but needs help with the tech, please let me know.  If you think you can help someone with the tech, please let me know so I can connect you.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Elizabeth Hardman

I wanted to share the beautiful obituary my Aunt Christina wrote as well as details of the east and west coast memorials:

There will be a memorial exhibit of her fiber art in the Safir Room at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, 1 Lawson Road, Kensington, Calif., from May 20 to May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, there will be a memorial service officiated by Reverend Michele Collins celebrating Lynn’s life on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Lynn’s interment and East Coast memorial service will take place at Cathedral of the Pines, 10 Hale Hill Road, Rindge, on June 11, 2022, at 9 a.m., where her remains will lay next to her husband’s.

I am trying to get an estimated head count for the June 11th event in New Hampshire.  We will be service a light breakfast after the service.  Please let me know if you plan to attend.  We're also camping on June 10-11th at Greenfield State Park.  I'm reserving several adjoining sties. If you'd like to join us, please let me know so I can reserve the sites.
