Lynn’s Story

Site created on March 27, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

The week of March 25, 2019, Lynn was diagnosed with Stage 4 Clear Cell Renal Cell Cancer. Lynn and family will use this site to keep all of you updated with her care and needs. Your words of encouragement, prayers and support is deeply appreciated during this difficult and unexpected time.

We have had several people ask how they can offer support to Lynn and family. Some have asked about the tribute button on the caring bridge page. The “Tribute” button donations go directly to Caring Bridge.com to support their web site, it does not go support to Lynn. You are welcome to support Caring Bridge in that way, however we have set up a GoFundMe Campaign link at the bottom of this page.  At this time we are unsure of all the financial needs this will bring. If you are wanting to support Lynn directly, her address is:

Lynn Olkives
325 3rd Street NE
Osseo, MN 55369

Thank you everyone for the amazing love, support and prayers you are sending to Lynn... she is feeling the love!

***If you would like to support Lynn financially, please go to the designated Go Fund Me: https://www.gofundme.com/72pwx9k (The "Tributes" link on the Caringbridge site does NOT go to Lynn)***

Journal entry by Susie Case

Lynn's service is still pending. We are still waiting for Fort Snelling to fully open so we are able to honor and respect Lynn's wishes to have a military burial.
We took a family trip up to the Boundary Waters. The boundary waters was Lynn's favorite place! Lynn & Mike honeymooned there and went for their anniversary every year they could. It was a very emotional but beautiful time and we all felt very connected to Lynn there.
Mike brought some of Lynn's ashes and we were able to put them at her favorite spot high on a bluff overlooking Canada. While we were there, a beautiful Orange butterfly (which was Lynn's favorite color) came and sat with us. It's still unfathomable to believe she is not with us. Tell those you love that you love them. Life is very short and unpredictable, live it to the fullest. I hope all is well with you and yours.
Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
