Journal entry by Lynette Lealwalcott

Over the weekend God answered a prayer for me. I've been concerned about my 10 year old daughter and how she is handling the news. I've tried to break it all down in the most positive and understanding way for her, knowing and seeing that it's still overwhelming and that she was holding in her feelings while displaying frustration and anger in other areas. I prayed and asked God to help me help her so that we could walk together strong and so that it doesn't affect her schooling and other activities.
Well, this weekend we did a Girl's On The Run 5k. She has a friend that she has been practicing and preparing for this run with. I met her mother the day of the 5k and while in conversation she let me know that she had just not long ago finished chemo and she was trying her best to support her daughter in this 5k. Neither one of us knew what the other was dealing with and it was such a blessing to be able to talk and connect with her. After the race we talked to my daughter and you could instantly notice a relief and exhale come over her. Now, not only did she get to hear her friend's mom talk about the journey.. She also realized that she has a friend that she can walk with and relate to.
I just love how God always hears us and never leaves us lonely. I'm so blessed and grateful.
