I was in the area recently and stopped by their house. Or where it used to be. I’m glad I did, because I’m mourning the loss of the house, garden, and memories too. I took some photos, took a couple of rocks, and cried a LOT. Missing them.

Wes and I are still in some denial over the loss of Dick and Lulu. We see an ad for a great concert and immediately think “Wow, we should see if. Dick and Lulu want to join us!” Alas, not to be. But we hold them in our hearts and memories and let such thoughts remind us of them.

Just today I ran across some spring photos of their yard that Dick sent to us and to many friends back in 2011. I will miss sitting in their back yard next Spring.

Wes and I are headed to Lanesboro this weekend for some bike riding. We did several trips there with Dick & Lulu, so they will be there with us in spirit!

Thank you for your message Rob and Rita. I just got back from my morning ritual of riding bike. And every ride I’m reminded of Dick and Lulu and what great friends they were! Indeed, they introduced me to the Bike and Barge adventures in Europe! So many great memories of those two! I miss them a lot and understand how very difficult it is for you to have lost both of them so suddenly. Their memory I will always cherish. All the best to you.
